5 Tips for Cleaning Appliances

From the heart of your kitchen, appliances provide convenience and functionality to your daily life and contribute to the aesthetic of your home. However, keeping your appliances clean goes beyond the aesthetic and ensures your appliances are in good condition and working effectively.

With a team of fully trained professionals, MaidPro knows just the right tricks to help you clean your appliances! These five, easy tips will help you keep your appliances working and looking their best -

1. Unplug Appliances

Safety first! Unplugging appliances is a small task that can often be forgotten. By unplugging your appliances while cleaning, you're eliminating the potential of electrical accidents occurring. We recommend turning off appliances such as blenders, coffee makers, toasters, refrigerators and washing machines.

2. Clean Removable Parts Separately

To get a deep and thorough clean of your appliances, we recommend cleaning removable parts separately. By doing so, you can clean the individual components without potentially damaging the main appliance. For cleaning individual components, we recommend detaching them and letting them soak in warm soapy water or using your desired cleaning solution as needed.

3. Use the Right Method

There are different appliances that may require a different cleaning method. For your stainless-steel appliances, stay away from methods and products that could damage any finishes or surfaces. To clean stainless steel appliances, we recommend using microfiber cloths or gentle wipes to absorb and catch as much dirt and grime as possible, without damaging your appliance. To clean appliances that require less sensitivity, we recommend using brushes or scouring pads to accomplish the task. Always test a small, hidden area of the surface before cleaning the entire appliance.

4. Clean with the Right Solution

It is crucial to make sure you are cleaning with the right solution when cleaning your appliances. This is to avoid any streaks, wiping marks, or damage to your appliances. For stainless steel appliances, you should use a stainless-steel cleaner to remove any fingerprints or smudges left on appliances. For appliances like microwaves, coffee maker, or refrigerators, we recommend using a vinegar base solution. Vinegar is great for deodorizing appliances and its natural acidity is helpful in breaking down grime and grease. For everyday appliances, a mix of warm water and regular dish soap should do the trick! It is a gentle solution that is great for breaking down dirt and grime.

What is Lorem Ipsum? Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry's standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum. Why do we use it? It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text, and a search for 'lorem ipsum' will uncover many web sites still in their infancy. Various versions have evolved over the years, sometimes by accident, sometimes on purpose (injected humour and the like).
